As with testosterone suppression, the side effects of Anadrol revolving around hepatotoxicity are guaranteed. This is a C17-alpha alkylated (C17-aa) anabolic steroid, and regardless of genetics this makes it hepatotoxic. Liver enzyme values will increase with use. This does not mean damage has occurred, but it is an indicator of stress and possible damage to come . If your liver is not healthy you should not supplement with this steroid. If you are healthy enough for use, in order to avoid liver damage you will need to follow a set of guidelines. If you are healthy enough for use, if you follow these guidelines, while enzyme values will increase with use they will return to normal shortly after use is discontinued and no damage will be done. The guidelines are as follows:
Cardiovascular strain is one of the more pronounced and serious Anadrol side effects. Cardiovascular strain and negative cholesterol changes are a side effect common among all anabolic steroids, and especially oral steroids . This involves the reduction of HDL (the good cholesterol) and increases of LDL (the bad cholesterol). The result of such changes involves an increased risk of arteriosclerosis, and the degree to which these changes occur for the worse are usually dose-dependent (with higher doses increasing the negative changes and the risks). Other factors that affect these negative cholesterol changes are: duration of use, and route of administration. In terms of the route of administration, oral anabolic steroids are known for having a reputation as being much worse for their negative impacts on cholesterol in comparison to injectable anabolic steroids . This is because the liver serves to function as the cholesterol processing center for the human body, and the increased hepatotoxicity associated with anabolic steroids will result in even worse negative cholesterol changes. Anadrol in particular is extremely notorious for this, as its resistance to structural breakdown in the liver is very high. Studies whereby a group of males administered 50 – 100mg of Anadrol for a 12 week period have demonstrated dangerously significant increases in LDL and reduction of HDL (reduced by 19 – 23 points) .
This can be countered to an extent. You can increase the dosage towards the middle and later parts of taking it to increase the positive effects. You can also take a period of time away from the drug, cycling off for a bit to give your body time to recover before getting back to it again. Be aware that the more you take a day, the less results you will get added to through the additional dosage. So for example, taking 50mg a day adds a lot. Adding 50mg a day improves the results, but not by much. Adding 50mg more for 150mg a day adds slightly more, but it is typically not worth the negative side effects to your health for only marginal improvements. Studies conducted on the drug helps to back up this assertion, postulating that 100mgs/day is perfect for Anadrol cycling.
